Oconee Campus |
 |
|
There's a lot more to
GSC-O than the classroom! The
Oconee Campus has a wide variety of student-driven clubs and
organizations which span across different disciplines
and interests. Whether you enjoy academics,
athletics, creativity, cultural studies, philanthropy,
or politics, you're bound to find something fun to do.
Many clubs even offer
co-curricular credit, which can
build your transcript and your future resume.
|
|
Our mission is to enrich students both
academically and personally, offering varied outlets for
social connections and community service. If
there's a club you're interested in, but you don't see
it on the list, let us know! |

Disc Golf
The GSC Oconee Disc Golf Club is a sports club for students,
staff, and faculty. Disc golf is an individual sport played
exactly like traditional golf but with specially designed discs
rather than clubs. Players "shoot" across open and
forested areas, aiming for a basket instead of a hole. We
welcome everyone from beginners to advanced players, and we have
"club" discs in case you don't own any of your own. We meet
weekly at Herman C. Michael Park here in Watkinsville so come
out and either learn how to play or practice your skills.

perform their songs (or songs they like or wish they'd written)
in front of other songwriters and in front of GSC students as a
whole. All GSC students are welcome to join, and you don't have
to play an instrument to be a member. If you write lyrics,
you're welcome. If you play an instrument but don't
write songs, you're welcome, too.
Meetings are bimonthly, as announced. Contact
the faculty advisor for the next meeting date.
NEWS: The 2006-2007 Songwriter's Guild CD is

Organic Gardening Society
The purpose of the Organic Gardening Society is to beautify
the GSC-O campus through building, planting, and maintaining an
organic garden. We prevent and treat garden problems in the
least obtrusive, most non-toxic ways and will harvest our crops
for sale at the GSC-O Spring Market. Our experiences allow us
to learn and, in turn, educate others in the Gainesville State
College Community about all aspects of creating and harvesting
an organic garden. Prospective members should contact
the advisor or check the notice and bulletin boards around
campus for fall meeting date/times. Regular meetings
will pick up in the spring growing season.Advisor: Julie Crouse

original research experiment to present at a
Psychological conference. It is a great
club for students who are interested in
psychology and eager to gain more knowledge
and experience in the field. Meets every
