Everything You Need to Know about Your
GSC ID Card
Students at the Gainesville Campus
should visit one of the two ID kiosk computers next to
the stage in the Student Activities Building.
Students at the Oconee Campus should come to room 508
(Student Life Office).
Type your
name and birthday into the computer when prompted, and
your personalized ID Barcode sheet will pop up on the
screen. Print this screen (printers are right next to
the computers) and bring it to the Office of Student
Life or the Game Room, when it is open, to have your ID
made. You must also bring a valid Photo ID to have
your ID made.

Faculty and staff may print their
personalized ID barcodes from their offices or at any
college computer. Simply log into the computer using
your normal username and password. Click on the start
button, and choose "GSC menu." This will expand to a
list of options; choose the first one, "Administrative
Apps." From the next menu that expands, click on
"Faculty & Staff ID Card." Your barcodes will appear.
Print this screen and bring it to the Office of Student
Life or the Game Room, when it is open, to have your ID
made. You must also bring a valid Photo ID to have
your ID made.

Who gets an ID Card?
Photo identification cards are issued in the Office of
Student Life to all GSC students, faculty, and staff.
Alumni can also receive a "Library Access" ID card that
allows them to have this additional form of
identification and use the GSC Library. This card will
not allow you access to the GSC Fitness Facilities. To
obtain your Alumni Library Access only card, please see
Michelle Brown on the Gainesville Campus.
Why do I need an ID Card?
All currently enrolled GSC students are required to have
a valid GSC ID. You should carry the card with you at
all times and you must present it to any College
official who requests to see it. Your ID is your ticket
into the gymnasium, allows you to check out library
books, access the ACTTs Center, computer labs, and the
Game Room, and may even save you money! Your ID Card is
a valid state ID and can provide an important second
piece of identification when needed, and it is one of
the 17 forms of identification accepted at polling
places in Georgia (which is why we require a valid Photo
ID to issue you your GSC ID Card).
What are the other rules governing my ID Card?
-
Lending it to anyone is a violation of regulations
and is subject to penalty.
-
Only one card per student.
-
Your ID card is valid for the entire length of time you
are enrolled or work at GSC.
How
much does an ID Card cost?
There is no charge for your first ID Card in the first 2
weeks of the semester. After that, you must pay $5 to have
your card made. You can pay this money in the Business
Affairs Office and then bring the receipt to the Office of
Student Life to have your ID made.
I
lost my card. What do I do?
Loss
must be reported to the Office of Student Life immediately.
If you have lost your card, please follow the instructions
under "How much does an ID card cost?" to obtain your
replacement card.
How
long will it take to get my ID Card?
We
can make your ID Card on the spot. The process takes no more
than 5 minutes of your time, although when we have lines
your wait may be longer. Typically the longest waits are
during Orientation and the first few days of each semester.
Can
I change any information on my ID Card?
If
any information is printed incorrectly on your ID Card,
please let the staff know and we will make the corrections.
There is no charge for corrections. If your change your name
legally, please bring proof of this to have an ID issued in
your new name.
